5 projects recommended for funding!
In ERA CoBioTech’s 3rd joint call for proposals “ Bio-based replacement products , technologies and processes ” (2020) 5 multilateral research projects have been selected for funding, with a total budget of €mio 5.4
9 funding organizations from 9 countries (Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Norway, Russia, Slovenia and Spain) combined their national and regional financial ressources. The call aimed at biotechnology as a key enabling technology (KET), in the context of the bio-based economy to tackle 21st century societal challenges such as decarbonisation of the economy and reduction of the reliance on fossil feedstocks.
In a one-phase submission process 16 eligible proposals were peer reviewed and ranked by a panel of international experts. After peer review and ranking of the Proposals by the evaluation panel the Call Steering Committee recommended 5 research consortia for funding from the ranking list, within the limits of available national/regional funding.
The research projects with a duration of three years will start from January 2021 onwards, depending on grant negotiations with the relevant regional or national funding organisations.
